Welcome to the Scottish Region Archives for 2018. These contain old meeting and visit reports.
The first event of 2018 was the Scottish Region annual Political Event, when Alison Payne, Research Director, Reform Scotland spoke on the work of Reform Scotland. This was followed by a well attended meeting in Glasgow addressed by Patrick Nyamurundira, Transport Scotland who posed the question "Can public transport be made fully accessible?".The first meeting in March was in Edinburgh when Bill Taylor spoke on "Visiting every part of Scotland". He was followed by Andrew McLean who gave an interesting talk on the National Railway Museum. Kenny Williamson spoke on the "Port of Leith" in april and was followed by Jim Miller who provided a hisotrical perspective of the "Finest Road in the World". James miller spoke on the story of travel and transport In the Scottish Highlands in April.
after the summer recess, events began with Drew Haley speaking on the Settle & Carlisle Railway and this was followed by a visit to the BT Murrayfield Stadium. The Glasgow meeting at the end of October was addressed by Eric Stewart who spoke on "Missing the Bus". The first event in November was a very interesting talk by Keith Jones on North Korea and this was followed by a visit to the new V& Museum in Dundee. This was followed by Andrew Parrott speaking on the railways of the Baltic States and the final event of the tear was a presentation by Moya McDonald on how Orkney responded to the development of air transport.
