The 25th anniversaries of both the CILT merger and the Scottish Parliament were celebrated with a reception at Holyrood hosted by Graham Simpson, MSP on 12 November 2024.
Thirty CILT members and friends heard Helen Hardy, Director of Sales and Marketing, recall progress under the combined Institute and look ahead to the future direction of the Institute.
The Scottish Parliament building makes use of materials from all over Scotland including Kenmay Granite from Aberdeenshire, Caithness stone and oak sourced from around the country
The Parliamentary complex consists of four main towers, the media tower, Queensberry House and the MSP's building, all linked by a covered walkway, with it's very distinctive ceiling.
The debating chamber is the heart of the building and is located over the main entrance.

The occasion also provided an excellent opportunity for networking afterwards and members and friends adjourned to a nearby hostelry for an evening of socialising and discussion.
