The CILT Scottish Region Archives 2010

The year started with a meeting on "Transport and Tourism" by Iain Herbert, Chief Executive, Scottish Tourism Forum and this was followed by a presentation on "The Cairngorm Funicular Railway" by Tim Whithorn. Racking for Whisky Maturation was the topic of the first March meeting and Gavin Booth, the well known bus book author addressed the second March meeting when he spoke on "What Passengers Want".

The first visit of the year was to Robert Wiseman Dairies at East Kilbride and this was followed by the The Scottish Region Annual Political Event when Jamie Erskine, Earl of Mar and Kellie spoke to the Region. The region then visited to BBC Scotland's Headquarters at Pacific Quay in Glasgow and this was followed by a metting when Duncan Fraser and Andrew McRae spoke on the "The Scotland Street Tunnel". The first haf of the year ended with a visit to the Tay Railway Bridge.

The second half of they year commenced with a trip on the Kilcreggan Ferry and this was followed by a visit to Oban in August. September was a busy month and started with a visit to the Scottish Maritime Museum at Irvine and this was followed by the Scottish Region Annual Dinneron 16 September. The following week saw a meeting in Edinburgh when John Wylde spoke on "Integrated Transport - a-will-o'-the-wisp?". A presentation on ACoRP followed and another visit took place, this time to Heil Europe's Manufacturing Operation.

Clare Bottle spoke on "Transaid - CILT's Charity of Choice" at the beginning of November and this was followed by a talk on "Paths for all" by Ian Findlay.
