The Mobireg Innovation Lab in Austria has 6-8 staff funded for 5 years by the Federal Ministry promoting dialogue on solutions addressing needs of particular areas, with digital platforms and stakeholder cafes leading to factsheets and pilot projects. There will be an international café on 26 November.
The Rural Mobility Project has seven partners now in the last of its four years across Europe to provide skills for a transition from one-size-fits-all public transport to public mobility. There are five pillars:
* public authorities face bus driver shortage, while citizens in rural areas are forced into car-dependency;
* expand solutions beyond traditional public transport to DRT, paratransit, carsharing;
* shifting from silos to coordinated planning;
* moving from rigid subsidies to integrated planning for value;
* measuring broader social and sustainability impacts, shifting from managing to cocreating.
Each pillar operates at European, national, regional and local applications aiming at integrated governance, mixing not choosing, so as to find the right combination. The project is bringing its guidance together as a navigator.
