After studying Software and Civil Engineering, Douglas worked for Aviva plc. During his time with Aviva he was involved in large scale system projects from conception to delivery, R&D of various sales, underwriting and resourcing software solutions and, latterly, transport planning & logistical movements of offices and resources.
Douglas then became the Travel Plan and Systems Manager for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. Douglas was responsible for the creation of transport solutions and policy for patients, visitors and staff. Douglas also assisted in the creation of national policy relating to travel planning within public sector facilities.
Douglas left NHSGGC to join the XX Commonwealth Games, dealing with Spectator and Workforce transport. Douglas led the successful active travel strategy and coordinated the TDM programme during the Games.
Douglas currently works for IBI Group.
